Brown won 448 games and lost 301 during his 25 seasons at LSU, for a 59.8% career winning percentage. He ended his career as the winningest coach in LSU history and second in regular season wins in Southeastern Conference history. He led LSU to two NCAA Final Fours (1981 and 1986), two other NCAA Tournament regional finals, four SEC regular season championships, one SEC Tournament championship, 13 NCAA Tournament appearances and two NIT appearances. He was the National Coach of the Year in 1981 and was a four-time SEC Coach of the Year, seven-time Louisiana Coach of the Year and four-time NABC District Coach of the Year. He posted ten 20-win seasons, including seasons of 31-5, 26-6, 26-12, 24-15, 23-6 and 23-9. He is a member of the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame. He was a charter member of the LABC, was selected by the LABC as Mr. Louisiana Basketball in 1988 and received the LABC's inaugural Don Landry Award in 1998. |
