Honeycutt was a third team NABC and Basketball Weekly All-American in 1997 and an honorable mention Sporting News All-American in 1996.  He was a two-time Louisiana Player of the Year, as well as a four-time all-conference, All-Louisiana and NABC All-District selection.  He was an All-Metro Conference Tournament selection in 1995 and was the Louisiana Freshman of the Year and a Metro Conference All-Freshman selection in 1994.  He finished his career as the leading scorer and fifth leading rebounder in Tulane history, with 2,209 points for a 17.7 average and 870 rebounds for a 7.0 average.  He led the Metro Conference in scoring in 1995.  He averaged 19.9 points and 6.5 rebounds in 1997, 18.0 points and 7.2 rebounds in 1996, 17.3 points and 7.5 rebounds in 1995, and 15.3 points and 6.7 rebounds in 1994.  He also set Tulane career records in three-point field goals made (193) and assists (419 for a 3.35 average).  He had single game highs of 38 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals.  He led Tulane to three straight 20-win seasons and four postseason tournament appearances, including a third place finish in the 1996 NIT.
