Williams was a three-time honorable mention Sporting News All-American, three-time first team All-Metro Conference, three-time All-Louisiana and three-time NABC All-District selection. He was also the Metro Conference Player of the Year in 1984, and the Louisiana Newcomer of the Year and a Metro Conference All-Freshman selection in 1982. He finished his career as the second leading scorer and fourth leading rebounder in Tulane history, with 1,841 points for a 16.0 average and 809 rebounds for a 7.0 average. He set school records with a 54.9% career field goal percentage and 192 blocked shots for a 1.67 average. He led the Metro Conference in field goal percentage in 1985. He averaged 17.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.29 blocked shots in 1985, 19.4 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.25 blocked shots in 1984, 12.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.19 blocked shots in 1983, and 14.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.00 blocked shots in 1982. He shot 56.6% from the field in 1985, 56.9% in 1984 and 58.4% in 1982. He led Tulane to two consecutive NIT appearances, reaching the quarterfinals in 1982. |
